Esch-sur-Alzette

The mining district : from the past to the future - by bike

Description

A journey through the past, present and future…by bike!

What better way to discover the region’s mines than by bicycle? This 20-km ride takes you through the Terres Rouges nature reserve and the working-class districts of the “Hiehl”. From there, you’ll see the scenery transform before your eyes changes as you approach the Ellergronn nature reserve. After that, you’ll head back into the city, as the route passes through the town of Esch-sur-Alzette, followed by the Arbed Schifflange nature area and finally the recently developed areas of Belval. And wait, it gets better…riders can enjoy free access to the blast furnace. What are you waiting for? Put on your helmet and let’s go!
